They grow up so slow, don't they ;

In oldentimes when men were men by twelve
And women were mother's much much younger
Back then, they grew up fast.

These days, people talk about these days;

The age of self importance:
Like the speed of things is threatening
But go on standing, staring, watching, gawking

The oldentimes, it seems have passed on;

The children are children by choice
And the babies are babied much much longer
They grow up slow, don't they
I dunno - I always hear people say how fast kids grow up and think.... no. they really don't.

Quite right, my friend.

Whenever I read Romeo and Juliet that is a thought strikes me, as Juliet fell in love, got married, consummated said marriage, and died at the age of 13 years old.
